Description

Manufacturer of frozen foods McCain has announced plans to cut 74 jobs from its site in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The site which employs 736 staff is proposing to close its cold store, which was constructed over 45 years ago and is no longer thought to be cost effective to operate and maintain. McCain has confirmed that it will enter into statutory consultation with affected staff. The specific timeframe for the closure of the store has not been announced though it is expected that it will be completed within the coming months.
