Description

Volvo cars has announced plans to hire 700-800 new employees in the Torslanda factory in Gothenburg during the first half of 2017. The reason is a plan to expand production from the current maximum of 206,000 cars per year to 240,000 cars per year. Production will focus on the car model which will replace the current bestseller XC 60. Volvo's sales increased within all markets where the company was active during 2016 creating the need for increased production.

The ERM has previously reported on business expansions and the recruitment of new employees in the Torslanda factory. The most recent report was in August 2016, when Volvo announced the recruitment of 400 new employees.
