Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French retail chain of sport products Decathlon has announced that it will create 300 jobs at its new distribution centre in Łódź. The centre is expected to be operational in March 2017. With a surface of 32,000 square metres the hall will be the second logistic centre of Decathlon in Poland. The unit will supply article to stores in Poland (especially located in the northern part of the country) and Scandinavia.
Decathlon, headquartered in Villeneuve d'Ascq (France), currently has 1120 stores in 30 countries and employs 70,000 employees worldwide. In Poland, the company has been operating since 2001; it has 46 stores and two distribution centres (both located in Gliwice).
