Description
Retailer The Range is to create 1,000 new jobs when it opens its new national distribution centre near Bristol. The building has cost an estimated GBP 100 million (€118 million) and will be one of the largest distribution centres in the country. The Range has shown rapid growth over recent years and currently has 130 stores across the UK with more planned for 2017; the new distribution centre will support this growth. Recruitment has already started ahead of the scheduled May 2017 opening. Founder and owner of The Range, Chris Dawson, commented that the new centre will also serve as a training centre for other distribution centres in the company's network, and that he intends to invite schools and universities to the warehouse to show their students how a major logistics operation works.
