Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 10 January 2017, German trader in fastening and assembly technology Würth announced to create 1,560 new jobs in Germany in 2017.
A total of 1,500 newly created positions will be filled with sales representatives and the remaining 60 positions will be filled with online specialists in the company's e-commerce department. The share of online sales increased from 12.5 % in 2015 to 13% in 2016. Furthermore, the company also has plans to increase the number of stores from 440 to 480 within the next year.
Würth currently employs 6,475 staff in Germany. The Würth Group employs 70,847 staff worldwide.
