Description
Tesco has announced that it is looking to fill around 130 vacancies as it opens its new store in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire. The supermarket has started recruitment in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and hopes to encourage applications from those who have been long-term unemployed. Training is being provided and those who reach the required standard are guaranteed a job interview. The store is due to open in late February 2017. While the new jobs have been welcomed by some, including the town council, there have been critics of the scheme, who have argued that the supermarket will take trade away from existing retailers.
