Description

Chemical producer BASF announced to cut up to 400 jobs worldwide by the end of 2018. A total of 170 of these job cuts will take place at BASF headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, affecting the department of purchase due to reorganisation. About half of these 170 jobs will be transferred to a shared service centre from BASF SE in Berlin. All 170 affected employees at Ludwigshafen will be offered another position within the company, due to a site agreement.

Already in March 2016, the company announced to cut up to 350 jobs worldwide, see (BASF, 2016). BASF currently employs 39,000 in Ludwigshafen and 112,435 employees worldwide.
