Description

Finnish car manufacturer Valmet Automotive is to hire 1,000 new employees at its factory in Uusikaupunki. Both assembly workers and white-collar workers will be hired. The reason for the expansion is the future production of Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV. New employees will work with welding, painting, assembly, logistics, engineering and production support operations. Recruitment has begun for 250 positions, while the remaining 750 will be filled during 2017. The company is expecting to employ 3,000 people by the end of 2017, compared to 1,550 today. The ERM has previously reported on the hiring of 150 new employees at the company's factory Uusikaupunki in September 2016 and the offshoring of 230 positions from Germany to Poland in 2014-2016.
