Description
Food production company 2 Sisters Food Group has revealed proposals to cut 350 jobs from its site in Merthyr Tydfil. The company intends to move its meat processing and packaging from the South Wales site to another operation in Cornwall. The plant, which employs over 1,000 people, packs steaks and chops, though it is understood that the slaughter of beef as well as the cutting will continue to take place at the Merthyr Tydfil site. The proposals are currently subject to a 45 day consultation period and final job losses will be known at its conclusion.
