Description
The takeover of drinks manufacturer SABMiller by AB InBevĀ has been confirmed. The plans were initially announced earlier in 2016, though the final deal was still subject to ratification from shareholders. The plans included reducing employment at the new business by 575. 523 jobs will be lost from the site in Woking, Surrey and a further 51 jobs will go from the London operations. AB InBEv already operates various UK subsidiaries and the former SABMiller sites have been deemed to be surplus to requirements. The takeover will mean that the SABMiller brand will no longer continue to trade.
