Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Online retailer Showroomprivé has announced plans to create 150 new jobs by 2017 in its units located in France, Spain and Italy. 120 employees will be recruited on permanent employment contracts and 30 employees on short term contracts. This is in addition to the 200 jobs which the company created in 2016, 70 positions more than expected. On the 150 positions to be created, the group will recruit about 50 young graduates and also young people as apprentices. Showroomprivé was created in 2006 and was introduced on the stock-exchange in October 2015 to support its expansion in Europe, mainly on its main markets in France, Spain and Italy where the positions will be created. Its annual turnover raised €600 million in 2015 (+ 27% in comparison to 2014).
