Description

Insurance company Gjensidige Forsikring will reduce their staff by 190 full-time equivalents in 2017. All parts of the company will be affected. In the third quarter of 2016, 120 million NOK will be set aside to cover restructuring costs. The goal of the restructuring is to increase competitiveness and reduce costs, with a renewed focus on digital solutions and investment in technology, brand profiling and new competence. The company plans to first offer voluntary job reduction measures. CEO Helge Leiro Baastad says that the goal is to undertake the restructuring without resorting to direct dismissals. Gjensidige Forsikring will also make several changes to its top management  from October 1.
