Microsoft has announced that it is to close its Skype subsidiary office in London as part of a move to consolidate employment at a new site in Paddington. It is understood that as part of this process jobs will be merged, resulting in the need to cut some positions. The tech company is entering into consultation on a reported 220 jobs, reported to be engineering roles. The company has said that it will seek to offer affected employees other opportunities where possible. The final numbers of job losses will follow the completion of the consultation process.
