Electrodomésticos Miró, a retail chain specialising in household electrical equipment, (including fridges, ovens and washer/dryers) will close all outlet stores. This decision implies the dismissal of its entire workforce (339 workers). Electrodomésticos Miró is owned by the Swiss investment fund 'Springwater Capital', who has informed staff of their redundancies by means of a letter. The company stated that it expects to sell the chain and maintain its activity and some jobs. The company stated that there are several buyers already expressing interest; the company expects to achieve agreements with potential buyers to hire the dismissed workers.
Electrodomésticos Miró has 65 shops in Catalonia, Comunidad Valenciana, Baleares, Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid, Soria (Castilla y León) and Barakaldo (País Vasco). In 2015, the company had a turnover of €100 million.
