Description

Valve manufacturer, IMI CCI Critical Engineering (previously named CCI Valve Technology), has announced plans to offshore its production from Säffle in Sweden to Brno in the Czech Republic. The plant in Säffle currently has around 200 employees and negotiations with the concerned unions are underway. CCI's proposal would mean that 110 of these positions will be subject to direct dismissals as the plant in Säffle closes, while the around 80 employees working with administration, tenders etc. will be relocated to Karlstad, around 55 km north-east of Säffle. CEO Martin Valfridsson states that the relocalisation to Karlstad is in order to improve the company's ability to attract future talent, while the offshoring is due to high production costs in Sweden.
