Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
BMZ Poland, a German producer of batteries for tools, garden equipment and bicycles has announced that it will create 200 new jobs at its factory in Gliwice by the end of 2017. The company is looking for production staff and engineers. The new production hall, which is being built, is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2017. The company plans to invest EUR 10mn in the project. BMZ Poland will double its overall production by 2020 thanks to the investment.
BMZ was founded in 1994 in Germany; currently, it is one of Europe’s leading providers of systems and solutions for the intelligent mobile energy market and employs over 1,100 people worldwide, including 500 in the plant in Gliwice.
