Description
The hospital of Freyming-Merlebach has announced that it will cut about 84 positions out of a total workforce of 400 employees through voluntary departure and early retirement. However, according to the management, some internal replacement may be possible. The hospital has faced losses over the last several years and needs to reduce its pay-roll, according to the director. All affected employees will be engaged in training in order to increase their skills and therefore their chances to get a new job. The union FO has stressed that the conditions surrounding such departures are very important, and states that the processes following the retraining are still very unclear. The union stated that it fears that the plan will lead to a further reorganisation with additional job cuts.
