Description

Plastic packaging manufacturer Amcor has announced plans to cut jobs at its site in Workington, Cumbria. It is understood that 74 jobs out of a totalĀ of 360 are affected. A 45 day consultation period has already started. The trade union Unite, who have around 200 members at the factory, have said that they intend to table alternative proposals to the job reductions and also hope to extend the consultation period beyond the statutory 45 days. The reasons behind the company's decision to cut jobs have not been made public.
