Description
Siemens has announced plans to recruit an additional 100 workers at its plant in Hull. This will bring the workforce at the site to over 500. The manufacturing unit produces blades for wind turbines. Jobs are due to be filled between September and November 2016.
The company has reportedly put on hold investment in the UK following the referendum decision to leave the European Union. However the decision to go ahead with recruitment in Hull has not been affected by the company's stance. The announcement is also noteworthy for the fact that training will be done locally at Hull College; previously recruits were required to attend the Danish sister plant in Aalborg for their training.
