Description

Takeaway pizza business Domino's is to create 10,000 jobs around the British Isles, as it prepares for a strong surge in business this summer. Due to the European Championships in France and the Olympics in Brazil, demand for takeaway food is expected to increase, and demand is expected to reach a  level of 160 orders per minute at peak times. The vast majority of the jobs - 9,000 - will be created in mainland Britain, with 400 in Northern Ireland and 600 in the Republic of Ireland. 3,300 will be in London and the South East. As well as the increase in staff, 65 new stores will open as the company expects to serve over 7 million pizzas during the European championships alone. The jobs are at all levels and in a number of roles across the business, and will be permanent, lasting beyond the summer.
