Description
The management of Thomson video networks has announced beginning of June a restructuring with a voluntary departures plan to cut from 66 to 80 positions. This reorganisation is a result of the the Company's recent take over by its US competitor, Harmonic in February 2016. In February, Thomson video network 's works council refused to give advice regarding the take over as management didn't provide enough information about employment consequences. The reorganisation will affect three units : Cesson-Sévigné (Ille-et-Vilaine, with about 60 job cuts out of a total of 280 positions), 13 job cuts in Brest (Finistère, out of a total of 45 positions) and 6 in Cergy-Pontoise (Val-d'Oise, from 15 employees). The union CFDT fears that the new owner will cut positions linked to hardware products and outsource production to Asia. The management highlights that departures will mainly be achieved through early retirements. It will also propose some internal mobility.
