Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Auxiliadom, a company that provides social care and activities for the elderly and disabled people, has announced that it is to recruit about 200 employees in France to reinforce its network. The company, created in 2011, will recruit assistant social workers and dedicated carers to take care of elderly and disabled people. It will recruit 100 employees in the region of Ile-de-France, 50 in the region of Aquitaine and 50 in Poitou-Charentes. 80% of these will be recruited on full-time positions. The company has about 400 employees and a turnover of €3.5 million. The management explained that it has to overcome many difficulties to recruit as the sector has a poor image, and social workers can therefore be more selective when deciding on their place of employment.
