Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Medical product development company Eirgen Pharma plans to hire 200 people over the next five years. The firm, based in Co Waterford, was established in 2005 and was acquired by OPKO Health in 2015. The new roles are described as being "highly-skilled". The existing manufacturing facility in Westside Business Park is to expand, as well as the establishment of an R&D Centre with manufacturing capabilities for new sterile fill finish and dry powder inhalation products. IDA Ireland is supporting the Eirgen Pharma expansion.
