European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Swedish producer of electronic and optical equipment Orbit One has initiated employer-employee negotiations aiming to cut 40 jobs. The internal restructuring is due to last years acquisition of the company's rival company Flex as well as an adjustment to demand in the sector.
The local union leader is not surprised by the job reductions but had hoped that the merger could be completed without redundancies.
