American secure smartphone manufacturer Turing Robotics Industries (TRI) is to move its manufacturing operations and its global headquarters to Salo, Finland resulting in up to 270 new jobs. Turing Robotics Industries CEO has stated that the company plans to produce 300.000 smartphones during 2016 and that 10-20 local staff will be hired for every 1000 phones produced, with a cap of 270 employees being hired according to the chief executive officer. The employment process will be finished before the end of May.
The ERM has previously reported on Finish communications cooperation Nokia'soffshoring of 1000 jobs from Salo in 2012.
