Insurance company Royal Sun Alliance has announced plans to close its office in Birmingham with the loss of 190 jobs. The company has operated in the city for more than 30 years. The company has said that it will open a new commercial trading centre in the city and is committed to maintaining its links with Birmingham. As yet, no details have emerged about the number of people who will be employed at the new site. RSA has confirmed that it has entered into the process of statutory consultation on the 190 job losses and has stated that it will look to redeploy staff wherever possible.
