Description
Baggage handling company Swissport has announced that it is to create 100 jobs at Belfast International Airport. The company which currently employs approximately 250 staff will become the largest employer at the airport following the expansion. The jobs will be in check-in as well as in baggage and freight handling, and salaries are expected to be around GBP 16,500 (€21,783) on average. The jobs are being announced due to planned expansion at the site by flight operator Ryanair. As the jobs are demand-driven, they do not rely on support from development agencies. It is not known when the new jobs will be added, though it is reported that the Ryanair hub will open later in 2016.
