Description

Marine Harvest, which employs 658 people at more than 50 sites across Scotland, has announced plans to cut around 100 jobs.  The company, which operates fish farms, has made the announcement following a fall in production and a profits warning. The farms are located across Skye, the Western Isles, Lochaber, Wester Ross and Argyll. There is also a processing plant in Fort William, as well as offices in both Fort William and Rosyth, Fife. It is understood that the job cuts could affect all areas of the business. No news has been given about when the job cuts are likely to occur, though it has been announced that the company has entered into a 30-day collective consultation process.
