Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The amusement park Plopsaland is looking to recruit 60 new employees as well as 1600 students and 160 seasonal workers. Based in De Panne, the facility has an acute shortage of employees as the area is thinly populated and limited by the sea and by the border with France.
In cooperation with the Flemish labour service VDAB, Plopsaland has organized special job days in order to expedite the recruitments. Some temporary agencies have also been contacted. Recruiting on the neighbouring French labour market is also an option, although at this moment no active recruitment actions are planned as the employees are required to have a basic knowledge of the Dutch language.
