Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American engineering company CH2M has announced that it will create 800 new jobs at its Global Design Centre and shared services centre in Kraków by the end of 2016. Global Design Centre will be the second largest centre of the company in the world, and the centre will eventually employ 1,200 people. The company will relocate all its offices to the new office building in the third quarter of 2016, which is currently being built.
CH2M provides consulting, design, construction and operation services for corporations, state and local governments. It specialises in industrial, waste water management, transport infrastructure, energy and environmental engineering projects. The company employs 25,000 people worldwide. The company has been operating in Poland for 20 years; the company employs approximately 400 people in units in 5 locations: Kraków, Wrocław, Warszawa, Katowice, Gdańsk.
