Description
Finish plastic pipe and well manufacturer Uponor Infra is concentrating its production to the factory in Nastola, resulting in 90 new jobs. 170 jobs will be cut at the factory inVaasa as a part of the relocation. The aim of the restructuring is to concentrate production to Nastola, thereby achieving profitable growth, greater agility and cost reduction. Production was relocated to Vaasa from Forassa a couple of years ago and the union representative does not think that relocating the production once more is a solution to the companies problems.
Uponor infra has initiated employer-employee negotiations every autumn since the company was created in 2013. For Uponor as a whole employer-employee negotiations concerning 450 jobs in Europe have been initiated.
Update 3/2/2016:Following concluded employer-employee negotiations 30 new jobs will be created at Uponor Infra's factory in Nastola. Only 93 jobs will be cut at the factory in Vaasa, which is why less new positions than expected will be created in Nastola. An additional 10 jobs will also be created in Tuusula.
