Description
Packaging company Crown packaging has confirmed that consultation has started over the closure of its site in Neath, South Wales with 245 jobs to be affected. Due to the number of jobs which are due to be lost, consultation has started under the statutory procedures. The plant makes lids for metal cans and has been one of the major local employers for 75 years. The closure is due to overcapacity and a decrease in global demand for the company's products. It is not yet known when the job losses will take effect. .
