Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The group 3SI (3 Suisses), the online and mail order retailer, has announced its plan to cut approximately 140 jobs at its headquarters in Croix. This restructuring takes place within the framework of a broader reorganisation related to the acquisition 18 months ago of 3 Suisses by the German on-line retailer group Otto. The new social plan will effect employees of support functions in its headquarter (3SI Support, 3SI Commerce, 3SI Services and 3SI Holding) and will lead to 140 job cuts. About 10 employees will stay at the end of the restructuring. Employees will be outsourced to suppliers or re-employed in other subsidiaries of the Otto group. 198 jobs where previously cut in 2014 (see ERM Facsheet).
