Description

Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli announced a mobility procedure for 70 workers at its premises in Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence. Last spring, the company was acquired by Italian private equity fund Clessidra. The Florence site hosts administrative offices, logistics facilities and a warehouse, employing about 350 workers. The mobility procedure is part of a wider reorganisation plan. However, the company has not yet provided further justifications concerning the dismissals. On 27 October, more than a hundred workers held a protest outside the company premises, followed by a one hour and half strike. The unions complained that the new management recently reassured that the industrial plan was to be implemented without repercussions for workers and job losses.
