Description

Nissan is planning to create up to 1,000 new manufacturing jobs in Spain in order to produce a new pick-up truck in its Barcelona factory from November. The assignment of a new model to Barcelona is the result of conditions agreed in collective bargaining over a year ago where workers accepted wage freezes and new measures aiming to extend flexibility. Although production of the new model will start in November, the company has not yet provided dates on when the new workers will be hired. It is also worth noting that the figure of 1,000 workers is a forecast which could change.
