Description
Czech state-owned postal company Česká pošta (Czech Post) is planning to dismiss nearly 3,400 people or over 10% of its current 32,000 workforce over the next decade. This is due to Posta's plan to change 2,526 of its 3,200 existing branches into franchises through its project Posta Partner. Direct termination of employment will affect 1,350 employees. Some 15% of the redundant workers should find jobs with the franchisees - mainly municipal offices or retailers. The company intends to save hundreds of millions of CZK (EUR 3.69mn) a year with the Posta Partner project.
