Description
Danish pharmaceutical producer Lundbeck is to cut around 1000 jobs or around 17% of the company’s workforce. The job cuts will take place at the company's Copenhagen headquarters and in other company units around the world. The announcement comes despite a better forecast for the company financially, and an increased focus on research and development for new drugs within the company. Competition from generic drugs producers and the lapse of patents on some of the company's main pharmaceutical lines are cited as reasons for the restructuring.
