Description

The Geological Survey of Finland (Geologian tutkimuskeskus), is to reduce its workforce by 90 full-time equivalents. The measure is due to a reduction of public funding.

In 2009, the agency received more than EUR 42 million, which can be compared to this year's EUR 36 million. And next year's draft budget amounts to less than EUR 33 million.

GTK is an agency of Finland’s Ministry of Employment and the Economy and currently employs 550 people, half of whom are researchers.
