Description

American technology and consulting corporation, IBM, is to open a new development centre in Malmö, Sweden. The company aims to employ at least 300 people. Recruitment will start as soon as possible and the centre is expected to reach its full capacity in 2017.

The head of the new centre, says that IBM may recruit more than 300 employees if the company manages to attract new customer segments. He explains, also, that IBM has seen an increased need of working close to customers and that the company also hopes to attract new customer groups in Sweden.

The new development centre is good news for the Swedish technology sector, which has suffered severe cuts during 2015, with both Sony and Ericsson announcing cuts of at least 2 700 jobs in Lund and Stockholm.
