In October 2014, Volkswagen Poznań received a permission to build a factory in Września (Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone), which is expected to be fully operational in 2016. New generation of Volkswagen Crafter will be manufactured there. Volkswagens' investment of PLN 3.3 mln (EUR 0.76 mln USD 0.93 mln) will bring 3,000 jobs in total. 500 workers have already been contracted by the factory and starting from the September this year the company will recruit up to 500 new employees. Volkswagen has been operating in Poznań since 1993 and it employs approximately 7,000 people.
