Description
Cisa, a manufacturer of locks, keys and access control systems, agreed 150 layoffs at the plants of Faenza (Ravenna) (130) and Monsampolo del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno) (20).
The company intends to outsource its activities with low added value and to renovate the plant of Faenza in order to produce electronic locks. The dismissals are part of the 2015-2017 industrial plan disclosed last June. At that time, the company announced its intention to discuss with unions 258 potential redundancies. After a long process of negotiations at the premises of the Ministry of Economic Development, the parties reached an agreement entailing the adoption of incentivised voluntary dismissals and the provision of outplacement services for the redundant workers. The agreement was validated by workers through a referendum held in October.
