Description
On 25 June, the commercial court of Point-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) has decided the liquidation of the hotel Manganao. The decision will result in the dismissal of 103 permanent employees and about 50 seasonal workers. The employees' representatives said that the decision was unexpected and they were very surprised. Two days before the announcement, at the last Works Councils, the management had only said that the hotel was facing financial difficulties. According to the management, the hotel failed to win a contract with a tour operator that could provide enough customers for the hotel.
