Description
Van Merksteijn International B.V. is a Dutch company that manufactures reinforcement products and fencing panels. Currently, it imports wire rods by Turkish suppliers, but it is experiencing concerns regarding logistics costs and delivery time. Therefore, the company decided to in-sourcing and reshore the wire rods production, also to improve the supply continuity and quality control. As a consequence, the firm decided to build a new factory at Eemshaven (The Netherlands). Preliminary activities to start the plant construction were concluded on December 22, 2017. The total investment is expected around € 250 millions and should be completed by 2020. When fully operational, 275 direct jobs should have been created at the new plant.
