European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
French industrial cylinder company Vallourec is to cut 550 jobs it in France in the framework of the global restructuring plan announced in April 2015. The plan will lead globally to 2,000 jobs cut over the next two years. The announced job cuts represent almost 10 per cent of the company’s global workforce. The company is also seeking to outsource certain activities, such as the production of tubes, to other companies.
All French plants will be affected by the cuts; Vallourec hopes to avoid forced redundancies through natural departures. The main job cuts will affected Vallourec's headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt (60 jobs), the Aulnoye-Aymeries plant (100 jobs), Déville-lès-Rouen ( 100 cuts on a total of 350) and Saint-Saulve (50 cuts)
