Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Pharma Valley, a subsidiary of Jadran Galenski Laboratorij (JGL), has announced it will opens a new production plant at Svilno, close to the City of Rijeka. The plant has 20,000 sqm of indoor space. The total JGL facility at this location now extends to 100,000 square meters. The beginning of the new production is expected in the first half of July 2015. An investment of HRK million 50 (€ million 6.7) is not only the largest investment in the history of these pharmaceutical companies, but also in the recent economic history of the City Rijeka. JGL is already planning a continuation of the investment. JGL Group is present in the markets of 35 countries and employs over a thousand workers. For the new plant 100 employees will be hired.
