Description
Mega Image, part of the Belgian Delhaize international retail chain, is to close four stores in Pitesti and dismiss 100 employees. The closure is due to insufficient sales. In spite of the closure, the company said that it will continue the expansion of its network.
The company operates four stores in Pitesti (two Mega Image and two Shop&Go stores). Mega Image is the largest supermarket chain in Romania. Its network comprises 420 stores in Bucharest, Constanta, Ploiesti, Pitesti, Brasov, Targoviste and other cities, under the brands Mega Image (203), Shop & Go (214), Food Cool AB (1), Gusturi Romanesti (1) and Mega Drive (1).
