Cable manufacturer Nexans has announced a reorganization that will lead to 206 job cuts by mid-2017 in France out of a total workforce of 2,900 employees. This reorganisation is part of a European-wide restructuring affecting 478 jobs. According to the union delegate, 70 positions will be cut at the headquarters in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine), 38 positions at a site in Lens (Pas-de-Calais) and in Fumay (Ardennes). Nexans has lost 333 million in 2013 and 168 million in 2014. It faces increased competition of low-cost cable providers. In October 2013, Nexans announced 202 job cuts in France (see ERM FS) in the frame of a European-wide restructuring plan. In 2009, the group had also cut 387 positions in France (see ERM FS).
