Description

US electronics manufacturing company Jabil will create 212 new jobs as part of plans to expand its Livingston site in West Lothian, Scotland. Along with creating new jobs, a total of 147 jobs will be saved.

The company will invest £12.5 million (approx. €17.1 million) to expand operations and capabilities in the areas of research and development, new product development and manufacturing. The company received a grant to the amount of £450,000 (approx. €616,000) from Scottish Enterprise (the government agency responsible for economic development) to support the first phase of expansion. Jabil opened the Livingston facility 21 years ago and provides advice on process improvement and supply chain management to large firms across a range of industries including IT, automotive, aerospace, defence, healthcare and communications.
