Description
Newspaper publisher Aller Women’s Magazines has initiated employer-employee negotiations regarding cutting up to 70 jobs. The aim is to save €1 million in Finland. The publisher initiated a program to save €4 million at the turn of the year 2014/2015. €3 million has thus far been saved and the aim is to save the last million by decreasing the staff in Finland. The restructuring is motivated by the decrease of profitability of magazines as a result of a fall in print advertisement and newsstand sales volumes. Aller Women’s Magazines employ approximately 250 people in Finland.
Update 3/12/2015: Initial negotiations concerned 70 jobs, but through restructuring of work tasks only 28 jobs were cut. The restructuring includes the discontinuation of the paper "Miss Mix".
