Description
Webasto, the Portuguese division of car component manufacturer Webasto and supplier of Autoeuropa (a motor vehicle assembly plant of the Volkswagen group), is to close down its unit in Palmela and announced a collective redundancy plan affecting 100 workers.
The closure is attributed to the decision taken by Volkswagen to discontinue the production of the model Volkswagen Eos as of July 2015. Webasto relied exclusively on the production of car sliding roof system for the EOS model.
Webasto is located in the industrial park of Autoeuropa in the Portuguese town of Palmela.
